Biography
INDICATION hail from Ruhrpott, Germany. This young band plays some raging Hardcore music in the spirit of old straight edge American heroes such as BOLD, Youth Of Today and Chain Of Strength.
Following a sefproduced 7’’ under a different line-up, INDICATION brings us their first full length «My energy is my dedication» out on CD and colored 10’’ on The Age Of Venus Rcds. Recording at Bunt studio (Mainstrike, Eyeball, ...) the production is just soo good ! Helped by modern studio techniques without being over-produced, INDICATION speaks with the perfect sound for that kind of music: energic, precise and nervous.
Music wise this album is just 100% Youth Crew Old School Hardcore. Speed parts, backing vocals, bass and drums breakdowns fit exactly the style and may remind you of SICK OF IT ALL, TEN YARD FIGHT, ENSIGN or even IN MY EYES. In no way their songs are suffering from those musicals limitations: just the opposite, their very strict songwriting style, together with INDICATION’s strong personnality, lead them to be a new step in the European old school hardcore scene.
Europe used to take its old school pride in MAINSTRIKE fame, here is the time when a new outfit rekindle the fire with the needed conviction: INDICATION GO !

This german band comes from the Ruhrpott area but unlike the other bands from this region, which mainly play metalcore, they play fucking great "in your face" old school, which reminds me Eyeball. This release is full of great moshing parts ponctuate with cool melodies. Get itS goooOooOOoo!!!!!

" Selten waren Schubladen so passend: "100% youth crew old school hardcore" frohlockt das Info und exakt das gibt's von der Truppe aus "Ruhpott/Germany" (seltsamerweise auf einem französischem Label veröffentlicht) um die Ohren geballert. Klassischer '88-Style: Volle Pulle in die Fresse-Geknüppel, Moshbreaks, Shout-shout-shouts. Unoriginell bis zum Geht-nicht-mehr, aber unheimlich frisch, mitreißend, trendfrei und kompromisslos. Energie ist alles! Der Albumtitel passt perfekt. Kurzum: geile Platte! 8/10 "

" Ruhrpott oldschool! most of you people have seen them live i guess. Here my opinion: I was very curious of what they sound like nowadays after hearing the 7 inch and the two demo's. I was very suprised! Nor21man told me they recorded it at the Famous BUNT studio's by Menno Bakker so i thought it must be good....and? it is a f*cking good album! Fast melodic songs, good lyrics, a real old school cover (icehockeyinyerfacekick) and a collectors release: 120 on white vinyl. Well what else does a man want? ow yeah, i think they're better than Mainstrike (sorry pepijn) cuz of so much positivity in the songs! if you feel down or so, put on this cd and you'll get your power back! My fav. songs: expectations, highest goals & talk like friends. Check the album out, visit their page and history repeat itselfs: Stage diving, pile-ons & circle pits! UP! "

" Deze Duitse band barst van de energie en dat blijkt uit de albumtitel van dit debuut. Ze zijner nog steeds, die eigenwijze old school hardcorebandjes die geen metal, hiphop of punkinvloeden gebruiken binnen hun sound. Deze Duitsers gaan verder waar een band als Sportswear een jaar geleden mee gestopt is. Het maken van snoeiharde old school hardcore die vergelijkingen met Chain Of Strength, Bold en Judge oproept. De tien puntgave tracks geven mij persoonlijk veel luisterplezier en laten in ieder geval horen dat het met de roots van deze Duitsers wel goed zit. Onbekend maak onbemind gaat voor dit Indication zeker niet op. Een aanvinst voor de hardcorescene en een beresterk debuut. 80/100 "

" Une indication? courez l'écouter! Sous une pochette qui fait étrangement penser à du Slapshot nous arrive la dernière production de notre label national The Age Of Venus. Après la très grande claque prise avec Fast Times, on attendait de voir s'ils allaient encore nous dégoter une perle rare. Et bien oui, INDICATION s'avère au moins aussi excellent! Si musicalement, ils n'ont visiblement pas écouté ce qui se fait en hardcore depuis des années, cet album est une version revue et corrigée de Youth Of Today: même esprit, même riffs, même longueurs des chansons mais en beaucoup plus rapide! Certes le son n'est pas très jeune donc mais quel plaisir d'entendre à nouveau ses bons vieux riffs directs et efficaces. Certains diront qu'ils n'ont rien inventé mais c'est souvent le cas dans le hardcore et ce n'est pas ce qui en fait un bon disque, c'est l'énergie qu'il en dégage le plus important! Et "My Energy... Is My Dedication" en est gorgé! 10 chansons en un peu plus de 23 minutes, old school à fond, rapide, direct, efficace, cet album est, comme le Fast Times, un must du style! A découvrir d'urgence! "

" Nouvelle signature pour AOV, et putain quelle tuerie ! Old school hardcore in ya face. Super énergique, rapide et entraînant, ce LP/CD est une pure merveille. Dans la même veine que Ten Yard Fight, Ensign, In My Eyes et les bons du genre, Indication nous lynche avec 10 titres phénoménaux. Généralement, y a toujours des titres qui se distinguent plus que les autres de part leurs originalité, leurs compos plus abouties. Cette fois, tous les titres sont de valeurs équivalentes, y a réellement rien à jeter sur ce LP, que ça soit du coté des compos, lyrics, prod; etc, tout est de qualité, GET IT OR DIE !!! "

" The best german old school bands come from..., right, the Ruhrpott-area. INDICATION totally come up with this clichee by kicking almighty ass! I already liked their debut 7inch (especially the song "no fraud" which has been rerecorded for this full length) but this is a total blast. They recorded at Bunt's, the world famous old school studio in Holland, which gives the fast and dynamic songs a razor-sharp shape! The production (especially the sound of the snare-drum) reminds me of EYEBALL an MAINSTRIKE who also recorded at Bunt's. "my energy is my dedication" is released by the cool french hardcore-label AGE OF VENUS run by Olivier Lehuby. This is first class german youth crew hardcore and you will definitely hear from those guys! "
